As a bonus, here are some kindergarteners celebrating the end of the trimester by using their well earned Lion Bucks to buy at the Roar Store.
Have a relaxing fall vacation! See you soon.
With assessments leading up to conferences, the past weeks have been intense for all involved. Yet, we give many thanks to our parents and caregivers. It is because of you that our children are successful. Thank you all for adapting your schedules, making time for conferences but also for taking your kids to school on time, doing homework with them, and working with teachers. As a bonus, here are some kindergarteners celebrating the end of the trimester by using their well earned Lion Bucks to buy at the Roar Store. Have a relaxing fall vacation! See you soon.

A tradition here at Jack Franscioni is the semiannual book fair, which sees lines of children out the door with crumpled dollars clenched by eager hands. At Jack Franscioni Elementary, we are progressive in ensuring an all inclusive environment is maintained at our school. Halloween is a big deal for many families, and the Parade is a highlight of the year for student and their loved ones. Yet, with many differing beliefs surrounding the date and many different reactions that our students have to the scene of the date, not all feel comfortable participating in the events or even coming to school on that day. It is for these reasons that at JF we have striven to provide such students with a safe space to participate in fun activities as equivalent as possible to the other festivities. Mr. Firme, one of our Kindergarten teachers, provided musical and tactile exploration opportunities to the students that have differing beliefs or feel more comfortable choosing such activities over the traditional ones. Please see these pictures from these inclusive festivities and opportunities our students have at our school. On October 19 at precisely 10:19AM, all students from all grades around the state participated in the Shake Out, a simultaneous practicing of procedures in the event of an earthquake. With many natural disasters being covered in the news, preparation is certainly key. Below are some pictures of the event as it happened in Mr. Firme's kindergarten class. Students at our school engaged in an interactive explanation of what bullying is and the behaviors associated with that. Students learned that bullies don't have to be big or strong, they can be anyone. Here are some neat pictures from the event. This week, our students have been discussing the topic of bullies and how to stand up to them, including not being one themselves. Each day has had a theme, and today's was Be a Hero! Our students dressed up in their favorite super hero shirt. Students in all grades are interacting with their lessons at their level. Here in Kinderland, our students in Mr. Firme's class engage with their learning through a tactile way--molding clay. This is not only fun, but it also engrains the letter in their moldable minds and emphasizes the skill of letter formation and print concepts. |
