On October 19 at precisely 10:19AM, all students from all grades around the state participated in the Shake Out, a simultaneous practicing of procedures in the event of an earthquake. With many natural disasters being covered in the news, preparation is certainly key. Below are some pictures of the event as it happened in Mr. Firme's kindergarten class.
Students at our school engaged in an interactive explanation of what bullying is and the behaviors associated with that. Students learned that bullies don't have to be big or strong, they can be anyone. Here are some neat pictures from the event.
This week, our students have been discussing the topic of bullies and how to stand up to them, including not being one themselves. Each day has had a theme, and today's was Be a Hero! Our students dressed up in their favorite super hero shirt.
Students in all grades are interacting with their lessons at their level. Here in Kinderland, our students in Mr. Firme's class engage with their learning through a tactile way--molding clay. This is not only fun, but it also engrains the letter in their moldable minds and emphasizes the skill of letter formation and print concepts.
Our First through Third Grade students sang a list of songs to the theme "Peace, Love, and Brotherhood."
Sometimes thinking outside the box means to look in one, a pizza box that is! In these pictures, you can have a pizza-flavored taste of their scientific explorations.
