At Jack Franscioni Elementary, we are progressive in ensuring an all inclusive environment is maintained at our school. Halloween is a big deal for many families, and the Parade is a highlight of the year for student and their loved ones. Yet, with many differing beliefs surrounding the date and many different reactions that our students have to the scene of the date, not all feel comfortable participating in the events or even coming to school on that day.
It is for these reasons that at JF we have striven to provide such students with a safe space to participate in fun activities as equivalent as possible to the other festivities. Mr. Firme, one of our Kindergarten teachers, provided musical and tactile exploration opportunities to the students that have differing beliefs or feel more comfortable choosing such activities over the traditional ones.
